Kosher Kush is a California indica with a high THC content and a Rabbi’s blessing. Well... not too sure it’s officially kosher, but the high THC content is definitely true! For experts only, Kosher Kush hits hard with deep relaxing sensations. This strain won best indica at the High Times Cannabis Cup in 2010 and 2011. For beginners, it may feel a little too heavy and sleepy (unless that is what you are looking for). However, experienced users will thoroughly enjoy the warm, giggly, soothing high.
The bud looks nice, nothing special. The red and orange hairs are probably the most prominent feature. Tufts of amber collects in patches all over the flower like little forest fires that haven’t connected. But when the most celebrated feature of your flower is the hairs... it's not a great sign. Crystals are visible, but average. The leaves are a nice green, but no shades of any other colors. Just pretty standard. The way flowers are grown can definitely affect the bud. This isn't necessarily the case for every Kosher Kush strain, it was just the case for the flower I had.
The smell is very bright. Lemon and pine flavors filled my nose. Like a citrus scented wood polish or a yellow air freshener shaped like a tree that hangs from your car’s rear view mirror. Something you enjoy smelling, but maybe you shouldn't get too carried away. At least with the wood polish.
As I broke it up it didn't feel too sticky, but you can tell the trichomes are there. An earthier dank smell came into play once it was seperated. I smoked my Kosher Kush out of a glass bong. I was winding down after a long day and needed to veg chill out on the couch before bed. The taste was very pleasant. Light and fresh. Lemons and fresh cut grass with a robust aftertaste. I took two rips from the bong and braced myself.
I don’t typically smoke a lot of indica’s, especially with a high THC content. But when I do, it's to get baked out of my mind. This is the perfect bud for that. I was immediately soothed and relaxed. I sunk into my seat and let the warm fuzzy sensation flow all over me. Once I settled into the high I started feeling very happy and giggly. I was watching old reruns of Seinfeld and although it is one of my favorite shows, I think I was laughing a little too hard at some simple lines. When the happy fuzzies started to wear off, I drifted into a sleepy coma. I passed out on the couch and woke up an hour later. I hit the bong once more, moved to my bed, and fell into a wonderful sleep.
I give Kosher Kush a 4.1 / 5.0. It definitely did the job, just not enough nuisance in my opinion. Visually it looks fine, but nothing special. The same can be said about the smell. The high was nice and strong, but I can name about 10 other indica’s that can knock you out. I did enjoy the happy giggles, but overall nothing to sound the alarms. A solid player, not a disappointment, just average. Great at nighttime and used for pain, sleep, and relaxation.
