Danny Ings' had scored four goals during his three years at Liverpool. This might sound bad on his preformance. However, injury restricted the him to only 25 appearances while Ings is hoping to return to form.
Ings joined Southampton this year on loan ,and will be permanent next year . His teammates have no doubt that he will start finding his feet soon.
Mohamed Salah holding the golden boot to encourage Ings has posing a challenge to him. He set a wager with Ings in relation to who would score more goals in this campaign.
Salah has found the net on two times this season while Ings has just the one to his name for the Saints.
But Salah has kindly agreed to rule out the first goal on the opening day of the season. As Ings' deadline day move meant he could not play for Southampton for the first game.Leaving them both on 1-1 in their unofficial standings.
Ings has said "I felt I needed to go to a club where I could really prove myself to be somebody Else's Mo Salah, be somebody else's (Roberto) Firmino, someone else's (Jordan) Henderson or (James) Milner,"
"I wanted to go somewhere I could be an important player. Be the player the whole city looks up to."
This kind of friendly wager is all that a player needs. This is commendable by Salah .
