Has it ever occurred to you? Why Blink 182 or U2? Why not Blink 185 for example, or U37? Or whatever.

Questioning the same thing, @WorldOfMusic will discuss about it. Well, after reading it, you no longer need to be curious.

311

311 is very famous because of the song "Love Song", but in fact 311 can not be considered an amateur band. In the past, there has been the assumption that 311 is a supporter of the Ku Klux Klan, a kind of racism organization, because K is the 11th letter in alphabetical order. In other words, there are 3 times K = KKK (Ku Klux Klan).

After a school blocked all 311 band merchandise because of the misunderstanding, they finally voted in a widely circulated press release. "The name 311 is taken from a quote from a Omaha policeman who termed an indecent word, we thought the term was funny."  Not clear what it means? Indeed.

Sum 41

Do you miss this band? It was not too late to know that Sum 41 was agreed upon because its personnel agreed to change the name from Kaspir to Sum 41 on the 41st day of summer (summer, sum-mer) in 1996.

Blink 182

Just you know, BLINK itself actually has an abbreviation, namely Boys Lusting Incredibly Nude Kids. At least, that's Tom's confession that does say whatever's on his mind.  But according to history, there is already a techno band from Ireland which also has the name Blink. Instead of the fuss, Mark Hoppus, Tom DeLonge and Travis Barker added 182, the total number of actors Al Pacino cursing in the movie SCARFACE.

30 Seconds To Mars

According to the frontman, Jared Leto, "30 Seconds to Mars can have many meanings, most importantly, it represents our music, a kind of phrase that is suggestive of our lyrics, cinematic, has a closeness to the fans."

Yeah, whatever Jared means.

Nine Inch Nails

Given the super-intelligence of Trent Reznor, there are two possibilities. One, the nails used to crush God in Christianity are nine inches long. Two, boring explanation of the vocalist, "Nine Inch Nails name looks good written and easy to make the symbol."

Matchbox Twenty

In the past, the band's name was Matchbox 20. The story, the number 20 came when Paul Douchette, who was not yet a drummer of the band (because Matchbox 20 was not yet born), was dazed at his restaurant when a customer stepped in.

"There's a huge 20-figure inscription on the man's shirt, as well as lots of emblems, the bigger emblem of the matchbox," Paul said.

U2

In the era of the 70s, U2 is still called Hype. At that time, they themselves were not comfortable with the name. Bono and his friends then asked Steve Averill who is now in charge of U2 design.

"Adam Clayton (bass) like a short and sharp name, very meaningful or even meaningless, so I made up ten names and wrote it down U2 is number ten.U2 is graphically strong and has many connotations. short and that time, stand out compared to the names of other bands that exist, "explains Steve.
