🥇 The place where it all started when it comes to tea production in Mauritius by digi-me@digi-me

Last week I went to Curepipe, which is a large city located in the central highland. Curepipe has a cooler and more rainy wether than the rest of the island, so tourists don't usually come here in large numbers. But, I think it is worth visiting this city, if you want a break from the beach. Curepipe was once a colonial stronghold. It is also here that you will find one of the oldest houses on the island – the Domaine des Aubineaux. During the years it has undergone renovations several times, but it still has the antique furiture used by the Guimbeau family. This family came from France to Mauritius in 1793 where they became involved in the tea trade. The house, built in 1872, has been in the possesion of the family since its inception. In 2000 the mansion was converted from being a family house, into a museum.

🥈 A weekend in Prague by azircon@azircon

I have been travelling a lot in Europe lately, which is great, because, relatively speaking I have seen very little of Europe. I also just recently finished Dan Brown's latest book, The Secrets of Secrets, which featured Prague. I don't really recommend the book for the content, but if you want to visit Prague, it is not a bad book to read as a sort of a guide of the city. Last weekend I was there, just for 3 days and obviously it was not enough, but I got a good introduction to the city.

🥉 Sometimes the Best Places Aren’t on the Map by russia-btc@russia-btc

One Saturday afternoon, while riding a bike with my son, we noticed something unusual. Off to the side of the road, there was a territory literally strewn with flowers - bright colors, blooming trees, and something that immediately caught our attention.
We didn’t plan to stop. But at the same time, it was obvious — we had to go there.
