Hi everyone, Worldmappin friends! @lauramica is here to present our Thursday Travel Digest. I hope you enjoy the places we're seeing today! ❤️
This time, our featured posts take us to the ruins of an ancient city on the Mediterranean Coast, a beautiful sunset at a fort in Montenegro, and a family outing on the beaches of Margarita Island, Venezuela. We also visit other parts of the world, such as Spain, the Philippines, Brazil, and Serbia. A little bit of everything! :)
Thank you all for sharing your posts on the Worldmappin map. Have a great day! 😃❤️
I had the chance to visit Patara, located in one of the most beautiful corners of the Mediterranean coast, during the summer. Patara is a small resort town in the Kaş district of Antalya. Centuries ago, the Lycians came to the Mediterranean coast and created their own small ancient city, transforming this region into a center of culture and art. The ancient city of Patara, where this culture was formed, is located in Ovagelemiş Village, between Fethiye and Kalkan, about 40 minutes from the center of Kaş. This area is recognized by our Ministry of Culture as one of the most important city centers of Lycia. For this reason, our Ministry chose 2020 as the Year of the Ancient City of Patara.

This name was given to it by the Austrians, who built it in 1860 for the purpose of guarding the city of Budva and monitoring the entire Budva bay, as well as the island of St. Nicholas, and the Jaz beach, which is located at the foot of the hill on which the fort was built.
Instead of the name Fort Jaz, the name Fortress Mogren became popular among the people, after the beach that is located on the opposite side of Jaz beach, closer to Budva.

Today I want to share with you a special day we spent at Playa Manzanillo. After lunch, we decided to go for a nice swim and if everything went well, stay to watch the sunset. It was an ordinary day, but it ended up being perfect.
My nephews Alenicoa and Samuel were at home on vacation, so we took advantage of it. We didn't make any elaborate plans, we just took the desire to enjoy ourselves. As this beach is only 15 minutes away from home, we went on the fly. And how wonderful, that place has one of the most beautiful sunsets I've ever seen.
