Hello everyone! This is Hive account@ybanezkim26 and I'll present today's edition of Travel Digest. In our featured posts, we have a ski resort in Serbia, a campsite in Iceland, and a village in Portugal. Enjoy and keep on pinning your travel posts to the map!
We stayed in a small village, 17 km away from Kopaonik Ski resort. Accommodation here is much cheaper. And there is a daily environmental tax when entering Kopaonik, but no such tax in this village and parking is completely free. Six years ago, there were two old trains connecting this village to the ski center. There are plenty of hotels, apartments and guesthouses.
Let's stay in southern Iceland, near the Katla volcano – a place that has always fascinated me. During a road trip with a group in 2019, I discovered the extraordinary Þakgil (Thakgil) campsite. We arrived late at night, and it wasn't until I stepped out of my tent the next morning that I could fully take in its beauty. A flat valley surrounded by moss-covered hills lay before me, like something from a fairytale. I wrote about it shortly after returning from that trip. The place left such a lasting impression that I returned during last year's summer vacation - and I know it won't be our last meeting.
Of all the places I have visited in Portugal, all the adventures, all the experiences, how many walks have I done? How many kilometres have I walked? How many falls... victories... I always thought I had seen it all! I always thought I knew the best of my small country... Then there is DORNES..🧭🌍
