Big Bud 747, or 16-V 747, is the name of a custom-built tractor built in 1977 in the American city of Havre, Montana.
It holds the record for being the world's largest tractor for general use. It was built by Ron Harmon and his employees at the Northern Manufacturing Company for a price of about $ 300,000. Rossi Brothers, a cotton manufacturer from Bakersfield, California, bought the machine and used it for the next 11 years, driving primarily with a large grubber. Willowbrook Farms near the city of Indialantic in Florida became the next owner, and used the tractor for the same purpose.
In 1997, the Williams brothers bought Big Bud 747 from Big Sandy, Montana. They used the tractor on their farm in Chouteau County, where it pulled a 24-foot-wide harrow. Here it could harrow barely one barrel of land per minute at a speed of 12.8 kilometers per hour.
