In this post, I will share information about Essential Vitamins for the body, they are said to be essential because the body needs vitamins to maintain health and internal organs so they are not affected by disease. I explained about the types of essential vitamins in a previous post. All of you can read them in the link below:
This time I am sharing information about Vitamin K which is known as one of the important nutrients the body needs to maintain healthy bones and teeth. This vitamin is crucial for all ages, both children and adults, even the elderly need to meet their intake.
Vitamin K
Vitamin K is an essential vitamin that is classified as fat-soluble just like vitamin A and several other types. This vitamin is crucial because its intake has a major influence on health. Vitamin K is divided into two, namely K1, which comes from plants, and K2 which comes from animal products.
All essential vitamins have benefits that are useful for maintaining the health of the human body, but some types of vitamins work differently from other vitamins, for example, vitamin K is associated with bone health. Previously, I knew that to strengthen bones and joints, we need to fulfill our calcium and zinc. It turns out that vitamin K also functions to help the process of hardening bones, which plays a role in the formation of osteocalcin to regulate the shape and size of bones to make stronger bones.
Vitamin K has other benefits, called as a carrier for the mineral calcium to prevent deposits in blood vessels, smooth blood flow will reduce a person's risk of developing heart disease because blood flow is not blocked. At first, I didn't know that Vitamin K has many benefits for the body, and one of the benefits is maintaining bone and heart health, I had never heard of it before.
Food sources that contain Vitamin K mainly come from plants (K1) and animal sources for vitamin K2. In my opinion, we can meet the intake of both vitamin K by eating foods that contain both, foods such as meat, eggs, and seafood high in nutrients such as protein, animal fats, and also Vitamin K.
Vegetables also have essential nutrients like fiber and also Vitamin K, so it would be nice if we fulfill balanced nutrition by consuming food from vegetable and animal sources. The point is not to overdo it and stay fit. Healthy food will become unhealthy if eaten in excess, try to balance all nutrition and nutrition even though it is complicated because if you are sick, it will be even more complicated.
I wrote this post only as a means of information for all of us, there is no suggestion or invitation to do certain things that could endanger health. If there is a mistake in my explanation regarding vitamin K, you can provide input or comments so that we can discuss it together, I am open to discussing it with all of you.
