Greetings once again. I welcome you to my blog. I believe we are doing good by grace. It's another day the Lord has made, and we should rejoice and be glad in it'. On this note, I watched one of Brother Eli's sermons on YouTube and would like to share my reflection on it.
How can we be sure of making it to heaven?
Heaven is a place every believer believes in going after the second coming of Jesus Christ. The goal of every Christian is to make it to this beautiful place that Jesus Christ said He was going to prepare for us. But as a Christian, do you know for sure that you are going there? Brother Eli threw light on how we can get this answer and the assurance of making it to heaven.
Going somewhere means starting from somewhere. The journey to heaven also has a starting point, which is right here on earth. The journey starts for everyone the very day they are born. So as soon as a baby is born, he has begun a journey, either to go to heaven or to miss it and end in hell. These are the only two destinations for everyone born on this earth. These two destinations lead us to eternity: heaven or hell.
Eternity is heaven, where love and happiness dwell, or ending up in hell to be punished by Satan and his fallen angels.
Deuteronomy 30:19,
I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore, choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live.
From the scripture above, it means we have two ways to eternity. The way of life and the way of death That of blessing and cursing, respectively, in accordance with the ways of life and death.
Evervane has the right to choose. God has given everyone the right and will to make these decisions for themselves. This is what we call free will.
Jesus saith to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life; no man cometh unto the Father but through me. (John 14,6)
If ye have known me, ye should know my Father also, and from henceforth ye know Him and have seen Him. (John 14:7)
This answers the question: Jesus is the only way, the truth, and the life. If we want to go to heaven where the Father is right, then we must first pass through Jesus Christ. He is the only vehicle that can take us to the Father in Heaven. So the only way to heaven is through Jesus Christ.
There is simply no other way.
We can reach heaven through the Lord Jesus Christ by walking in Him. This is because He is the way, and if He is the way, then we must walk in Him. We should not also divert but be rooted in Him.
We can be rooted in Him by studying His Word and following it. The teachings are the basis on which we must walk with Him. It should be something consistent, every day. This is one way of being sure of making it to heaven; just following Him will be an assurance of reaching our destination.
(Colosians 2:6-7, John 12:26)
Following Him makes us His servants, and a servant must always follow his master and obey his commandments. The same applies to the ways of Jesus Christ and Heaven as our focus and major destination desire.
If your master Jesus tells you not to commit adultery, it must be so; not to steal, so shall it be. We just need to follow his instructions as faithful and good servants, and we are sure of making it to heaven with Him since He is the way and we are following the way. On the other hand, a disobedient child will only end up in hellfire and live there for eternity. Let's follow the way( Jesus Christ) and obey His commandments to the last path, and where He goes, there shall we also be.
