I'm joining another round of #WednesdayWalk initiative by tattoodjay@tattoodjay and this post will talk about how my Wednesday went.

I've always wanted to go to Tokyo Dome City, where Tokyo Dome is located. I heard there's a mall and lots of entertainment so I wouldn't be bored. If not for attending the Maroon 5 concert, I wouldn't be able to go.

This post will not talk about the Maroon 5 concert though. Watch out for it in my next posts.

We reached Tokyo Dome before 5 pm and it was already dark. Sunset was quite early since it's already winter here.

I was actually quite surprised there's a massive and scary roller coaster tracks. It's not working though. My companion told us there was an accident that happened before the pandemic so the ride had to undergo some maintenance.

Since the concert was sold out, we kinda expected a lot of people and true enough, there were so many people. There were many people coming from the station to go to the dome. It was hard not to get separated from your companions.

Going to the front

Surprisingly, there were only a few people in this gate. I figured this gate was for VIPs?

We've almost reached the front side and it seems this place was where the congestion was.

There was a store dedicated for baseball fans. It was closed and we didn't come here for that so we didn't mind it. Beside the store was the Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum. There's a fee to get in and I'm not really a baseball fan, so I guess I wouldn't be able to relate. But if you're a fan, I suggest you go. 😉

Since it's almost Christmas, Tokyo is full of illumination and this area in Tokyo Dome is no exception. The big hotel in the photo is called Tokyo Dome Hotel.

Giant Christmas Tree in the mall nearby

While the rollercoaster was not working, the ferris wheel was working fine.

Even the pathway nearby was full of colorful lights. Not sure where this goes but I think it's going to the train station.

Tokyo Dome City has an amusement area, a mall nearby with so many different shops, a big hotel, lots of restaurants, and the dome of course. I even saw the JUMP store while we were walking around! If you don't know what JUMP is, it's the magazine containing lots of animes and mangas so basically this JUMP store sells a lot of official goods and items of animes.

The trees are also illuminated

I heard there's also a footbath near here but I haven't seen it. There's also a spa nearby that has hot springs and sauna, like an onsen. Next time I'll try that!

View from the street

Sadly, I didn't see anything worthwhile when I went out of the Tokyo Dome City premises. Though, there's a small Don Quijote nearby, a pub, and a restaurant that's open til midnight. I guess there's still more on the other side but from where we were, it's very quiet.

I think Tokyo Dome City is best enjoyed when there are only a few people so when there's no concert or game, I'll try to visit this place again just to explore. Wanna explore this place together with me next time? 😉

Thanks for reading!
