Here are my choices:
Garbage - "The World Is Not Enough"
The type of Rock that this band does is difficult to describe because it navigates through many aspects (I will always appreciate that in an artist / band). This song does not have the melody of a traditional Rock, but it represents the softest style (which is quite very good).
The song was one of the official songs of one of the movie in the 007 franchise (whose title is the name of the song itself) and I really like how it has an increasing rhythm (a gradual and musically well-structured intensity)... Plus, a very dramatic melody.
Goo Goo Dolls - "Iris"
Honestly, I think I didn't even need to comment on this song (for obvious reasons), right? Okay, but I'll comment anyway ... Haha! This track was born as a classic and the work that this band does with it is incredible! It is undoubtedly a song that has its own identity.
Everything about this song works very well. The lyrics are excellent (pretty deep), the vocals are great, the musical arrangement is magically beautiful, its meaning is very profound and timelessness. So... What else can anyone want in such a fantastic song? I mean... C'mon, nothing!
