It's the general election in the UK today and I think we are at Crossroads. This country has some big choices ahead about how its run domestically and how we interact with the rest of the world.

So, this is a plea to all my fellow Steemians in the UK, GET OUT AND VOTE!!

I don’t care about your allegiance, just use your hard fought for right and have your say.

Thanks to Steemit I have been introduced to the idea of the Blockchain, and i love this concept
Ballot.jpg
Imagine though our UK democracy regulated and controlled by blockchain technology.

Voting

Vote via blockchain backed technology, the ballot result is no longer open to tampering, the result known almost instantly and an honest result.

Campaigning

No more fear mongering and lies, commit manifestos to blockchain as well as statements from politicians, we could then check and verify they are telling the truth, I don’t know how many times I have seen a politician get away with "I didn’t say that..."

Cabinet meetings

We get to find out what is said and how decisions are made that affect millions and millions of lives, not just at home but out in the wider world. Completely transparent and fair Domestic and Foreign policy, no more insidious influence, politicians made to be decent and honest because every word committed to the blockchain can be checked, but never tampered with. It does wonders for a politician's honesty knowing that what they say is committed to posterity.

Parliamentary debates behind closed doors

No more smoky back room deals. Politicians forced to be honest, because they can be scrutinised and held to account.

Free and fair elections no longer run on fear and lies that we the people can then check later and know that what we are looking at is the truth.

Enough of me, if you are reading this, put the device down, brave the rain,

and have a say in how the country gets run for the next 5 years.
