I am continuing working on my current model train project and actually making good progress so far.
Today the plan was to connect the tracks and track switches.
In a first iteration everything is going to be "outside" for easier access in case of malfunction.
Short silver wires are being soldered onto the tracks. Those are then being connected to the "heart" of the digital (electric) current.
Furthermore this part is also able to detect which part of the track is currently being occupied by a train. This is especially useful to avoid collisions on a automated operation.
Of course, those wires also get hidden underground
Looks quite messy, doesn't it?
This is going to be the next task. Move the electronic modules and wires under the surface and wire up everything neat and properly.
Also the tracks need to be fixed in place. Some part are floating in the air due to the uneven underground.
However the brave little test locomotive (truck for scale) already drove her first successful circles in a fearless manner cheer
