Hello beautiful ladies of hive.
Shoutout to @joydukeson for tagging me and reminding me of this loving community.
Answering to question one on a song that stirs my heart and bring memories each time I listen to it.
As weird as it sounds, these days I dislike sharing a song or playlist with anyone anymore reason being life complications can happen and cause us to separate for one reason or another. If I don’t share a memory of a song with anyone then I will not be constantly tormented anytime I listen to that song and I can enjoy it anytime and anywhere.
However, I developed this mindset about a year ago but before then I had a particular song I shared with a friend well now an ex friend.
We use to be so close to the point of sharing each other’s clothing, sleeping over at each other’s house, sharing foodstuffs and those kind of proximity.
She saw a movie called Breakthrough, great movie by the way and highly recommended.
She urged me to see the movie as well and when I did, it made me so emotional that the feeling lasted in my mind for days and I would cry at the slightest thought of it.
In the movie this song by Hillsong - Oceans (where feet may fail) was beautifully performed and ever since I was so obsessed with the song. During that period in uni, I never miss a day without playing this song.
It turned out that my friend loved the song as well.
The one memory this song will forever remind me of whenever I listen to it was when my ex friend and I had a quiet moment one day, talking about our family and other challenges we were facing that period. She was having major father issues at the moment and just needed someone that’ll listen of which I did.
She got emotional and tears flowed. Sometimes it’s honestly okay to cry especially when it’s in a situation you can’t control. I turned on the Bluetooth speaker and played our song - Oceans by Hillsong, plus it is a gospel song and that made it a cherry on top.
As the song played, I encouraged her and cried along with her.
Eventually she felt better and we both went ahead with our day feeling much better.
Unfortunately we’re no longer friends and it is totally okay because some people are there to show you what friendship is and what friendship is not, we both played our part and separated peacefully.
I enjoyed the moments while it lasted but this is the main reason I never like to share a song with anyone anymore. Now I’m left with memories that I’m no longer allowed to reach or recreate and it’s honestly a sad ending which is why presently, I totally avoid it.
Furthermore, the message behind the song is also really inspirational. It was the ideal song for the movie.
The lyrics encourages and uplifts my spirit each time I listen and sing along.
This song will never get old to me, it’s one of my favorite Christian song of all time and I’m glad I made a beautiful memory with it even if I won’t anymore.
