Welcome to my new post. How are you friends? I think everything will be fine. Yesterday I told you about cherry tomatoes in my backyard. In the small town where I live these days, it rains every day, so I do not need to water the plants. And the plants are always green, and the flowers and fruits grow very fast. Today I am going to tell you about a plant that already has a lot of fruit in my garden.
My dad loves to grow plants, and I love plants, so we grow a lot of plants in our family's small garden. Now that the rainy season has arrived, the fruits are cheaper. However, some vegetables and fruits are grown in our house so we do not have to buy them at the market. In my small garden there is a plant with lots of green fruits. This plant is a passion plant.
In fact, the flowers and buds from this passion plant started to appear only two months ago. But I have never told you about it. At that same time, I photographed the buds that sprouted from this passion plant. Because I wanted to post the stages of flowering from this passion plant.
I have never grown passion plants in our house before. As a kid, I used to find these passion fruit plants in my grandfather's garden. The passion plant is a type of vine that can produce a lot of fruit if you give it a lot of space. As a kid, I used to play with passion plant tendrils as a noodle.😅
My father used to grow a lot of plants in our family backyard using seeds. However, my father did not plant this passion plant using seeds. A year ago my dad got a gift of a passion plant from a friend. My father planted a passion plant in a corner of the yard. Asian pigeonwings have been cultivated there before. But now the passion plant is there.
Some buds begin to form between the stem and the leaf. These buds look like lotuses and are very small. There were so many black ants in that tree, I was worried that the ants would destroy the buds. But the ants did not destroy it, as I expected. And because it rains every day, those buds quickly turn into flowers. I know passion flower buds can be used as tea, but I did not pick those buds because I prefer fruit juice.
The color of the passion flower is a mix of purple and white. This passion flower is very similar to the flower called crown flower in our country. I have seen that the crown flower has two colors, red and purple, and the passion flower has only one kind of purple.
After the passion flower fades, it turns yellow. Then a green baby passion came out from inside. But at the top, styles and stigma are still there. Below I show some of the passion fruits I shot today.
Now the plant has a lot of passion fruit. Some passion fruits are slightly larger, but all are still green. And I still feel light when I hold those passion fruits by hand, so they are not harvested yet. When I counted the passion fruits on that plant, there were almost 100 of them. There are still some buds and flowers.
There are two types of passion fruit where I live. The two are purple passion and yellow passion. Purple passion is more expensive than yellow passion. The passion that we planted in our house was the first to bear fruit, so at first we did not know what kind. Today I saw a passion fruit fall under that tree. Then I realized that this plant is a kind of purple passion. The aroma of this purple passion fruit is very sweet. I can't wait for the next purple passion to ripen.🍇
