Hello my loving Asean Hive community,

Yesterday I told you how to make a silverberries salad. Today I will tell you something else. Last week while I was shopping, I bought a 24-color oil pastel pack. I did not use those oil pastels until yesterday. In fact, I'm not good at painting at all. But I also really like seeing other people's paintings. So I bought it because I wanted to try oil pastels one more time. I have a friend who draws oil pastels. I told him I wanted to try oil pastels, so today he told me an easy topic for beginners. Let me tell you about some of the steps I took to make this drawing a success, as he said. Let me first talk about the materials I used.

Materials I used

  • white paper
  • oil pastels
  • washi tape
  • cotton swab

The oil pastels pack I bought contained 24colors. However, I only used 4colors. The colors I used were dark blue, light blue, pink and black. These colors I have chosen for my favorite colors. If you can choose the colors well, you will get a better painting.

Step-1

First I made a frame on white paper using washi tape. Normally other people use paper tape. But I use washi tape because I do not have paper tape. Oil pastels will only be used inside that frame, so I need to be consistent when framing.

Step-2

First I used dark color oil pastel. I painted dark color oil pastel on the top of the frame. I painted about a third of the frame in dark blue color.

....................................................................................................................................

Step-3

Under dark blue, I painted light blue. I chose light blue a little bit. My friend told me that I can also use white between each color. However, I did not use any color between dark color and white color.

Step-4

Under light blue, I painted pink color. The pink color I used was light pink. I think it would be also nice to use red instead of pink. At first I thought of using red, but I chose pink because I wanted to use softer colors on the bottom of the frame.

....................................................................................................................................

Step-5

In this step, I used a cotton swab to smooth out the uneven areas of the oil pastels. I also mix colors where there is a touch of color. After using the cotton swab, you will get as shown above.

....................................................................................................................................

Step-6

At the bottom of the pink color, I draw a mountain line using black color. I painted a black color for all the extra space below that line.

When I finished painting, I removed the tape.

The painting I did using oil pastels is mentioned above. Drawing it was so easy that I did not think the result would be so good at first. After removing the tape, the result surprised me. What do you think of the result? Soon I will be drawing other designs using oil pastels.🍇
