Aklaa - Be Reminded Of Your Task

Introduction
Every day, the world is advancing, new developments come in, new technologies are launched. Personally, I love to try out new things, as such, I learn a lot and equally get exposed.
Fortunately for me, I came across an application where I can create an event, add a description to that event and equally set an alarm for that event. I find this application very interesting! Aklaa is the name of the app. Without a waste of time, let's go straight to know more about this great app.

What is Aklaa?
From my own point of view, I may define aklaa as an open source application that users use to create a task. Aklaa's function doesn't stop there, it equally allows users to add a description, and set alarms to the task.

Getting started
Getting started on this app is quite simple. The steps are outlined below

• Click on this link to download aklaa from android play store.
• Click install.
• After installation, launch the app and that's all.

How to create a task
Well, after launching the application, I observed I wasn't asked to grant any permission to be able to go further to use the app. So, it was quite easy creating a task straight away.
To create a task, follow the steps below:

• Tap on 'add new task'.

• Input the name of the task you wish to be reminded about and click done on your keyboard. You'll observe that after typing the name of the task, there was no 'save' button on the app rather you'll see 'done' on your keyboard. Another observation is when the task has been created, you are not asked for reminder time, description or category of the task. The next step explains the solution to this issue.
• Tap on the already created task. You'll see a page that looks like the image below

• Choose task category, add a description and set time and date for your task.

Features

• Manage categories
  On the aklaa app, there are three default categories which are personal, work, and shopping list. Each of these categories is in their respective colours which helps me to identify my task easily. I can also add my own category by tapping on the plus sign(+), give it a name I like and the colour I want. This makes the app interesting.

• Completed feature
  This feature gives me a trace of a task I have completed successfully. I love this feature cos it serves as an archive. With this feature, I can trace my task to know my progress and to equally make improvements on the next task.

• Task description and alarm
  This is another great feature on aklaa. An alarm is present to remind me of my task and adding a short description to my task reminds me of what I'm supposed to do when the task notification comes up. It's an advantage over my inbuilt clock.

• Interface
  Aklaa's interface is very simple and straight forward. I can easily identify what I'm looking for in the app without stress.

Advantage

• Availability of task details and alarm.

Disadvantage

• Lack of customization feature.
• Unavailability of different alarm tones.

Comparison with my inbuilt clock
So far so good, aklaa performs the work of my inbuilt clock very well. It also has an additional advantage which is "adding a description" over my inbuilt clock. This makes me love the app so much.

Project update
The developer of this project is really putting his best to make sure this project is kept in good shape. So far so good, the developer has made eight releases and the last was released 20 days ago.

Conclusion
Aklaa is an app I'll recommend to anyone. It helps me manage my task easily. With its categorization, I can easily identify my task. It is a very simple and straight forward app.
