Items that add an ability to your summoner would be quite powerful. Like +1 Speed boost. I think have items that use an ability effect on a selected enemy creature for one turn, like stun, blind or snare

This is very true, I am always so pumped for Water, Earth or Neutral quests. The rest of them are very tough. Although, I also really enjoy getting through a difficult daily quest.

As far as fan art, it matches the esthetic of Splinterlands so well. I saw this on a post in discord and assumed it was an actual spoiler. I love the concept and the composition. I agree with @dynamiccrypto

Splinterlands has so many value pools (cards, cards levels, power, dec, potions, drop rates, lands, airdrop, sps, credits, guild stats, rewards chests, rank, etc etc) that specialty cards could impact
