November 25th will mark 1 year from our official launch as a business but this time last year I was busy working on the site and getting ready for the launch.
As Wild Homesteading approaches the end of the first year as a business I wanted to share some updates. There has been some ups and downs and a lot of lessons learned.
Here are some updates and things to look forward to as we get ready to start our 2nd year as a business.
Most weeks I have released a new blog post with a cheat-sheet, guide, checklist or similar bonus material for people who signed up on our email list.
But even if you had already signed up you had to enter your name and email again each week to get the new bonus material.
That is about to change.
I'm almost done upgrading the site so if you follow the links to a new blog post from our weekly email you won't have to re-enter your name and email to get the bonus material.
You will also be able to visit old blog posts and download the bonus material without entering your info. If all goes well and as long as you click the links in the emails you won't be asked on the site to enter your email.
This has been a much asked for feature and I'm very happy that we will finally be able to provide it to our Wild Team members.
I'm also happy to announce that in the next couple of months we will have our own patreon page.
If you enjoy the free content that we produce each week and want to help support that work then supporting Wild Homesteading on patreon will be a great way to do so.
There will also be some extra goodies for our patreon supporters that we are still figuring out. Do you have any suggestions? Please share in the comments!
Soon we will be starting to write our first book and creating a free online companion course to go with the book.
I don't have much to share about the book other than I hope to have it out next summer.
Our patreon members will get to read it early and offer feedback plus get a copy of the book once it is out.
I also plan to sell the book for STEEM in addition to USD. I will likely list it on the market managed by @homesteaderscoop which is a great service. I highly recommend checking it out!
All of this is very exciting and it will let us better serve you all. It's also the next steps toward me being able to leave my day job and work fulltime on managing and creating content for Wild Homesteading.
We have more plans to launch a podcast and start posting videos but that will likely be further down the road.
All of this takes time and at the moment it's just my wife and I running Wild Homesteading. So we actually took this week off from posting a new blog post to focus on getting the bonus material upgrade finished. Hopefully that will be up and running in time for next week's blog post.
With a 4 month old and a 2 and a half year old life can be very busy. Taking a break from creating new content gives us space to get our new website feature up and running.
We are also updating our site categories. We are replacing the start your homestead category with one called building a natural life.
This update better fits who we are and what we want Wild Homesteading to be all about.
