Hi friendly Steemians! I just wanted to share a few photos with you that I found in my archives today.
Both these paintings were done with love for dear friends of mine! Both were birthday presents bought either for themself or bought by a friend as a surprise. Both were custom painted with their choice of color themes.
I always use the same method when painting canvases in this style. I pick out three colours for the background and one colour for the Henna design. I use big soft brushes and lots of water and just go for gold, splashing about paint and colour and building up a layered, textured background. Once that is dry I pipe on the design using a Henna cone filled with thick acrylic paint. I absolutely love the texture, the 3D image it creates.
I don’t do a lot of custom artworks as I feel too much pressure to deliver a finished work created on a concept that I can’t actially see...I can’t see what’s in the client’s mind when they tell me exactly what they want and I feel stressed that they will be disappointed with my final painting.
However all the custom pieces that I have painted have been really enjoyable to do and I believe the owners have been happy with their artworks :)
So here’s to all the amazing people out there who have believed in me and asked me to create something to reside in their homes forever 🙌
