Before I did the milk thing with the kiddie pool in my studio I did a shoot with just water.

The perk to the water only in the kiddie pool, while still wet and messy, and I had to empty it out scoop by scoop...it did not have the weird sour milk smell.
This time I put a dark blue sheet in the bottom to cover up the ugly pattern and also make the water appear to be deeper than it was.
This was the shoot were I dropped my timer in the water, the shudder happened to go off at that moment so you get to see my expression.
In the next shot I am checking to see if it still works...it does!
I liked quite a few of the shots as they were in studio.
but going into it I knew I wanted some for composite as well and I really liked how those turned out!
I enjoy water themed photos, but trying to take self-portraits in an actual lake is not something I have even attempted yet...not completely anyways. I have walked in with tall rain boots, but not been willing to get in lay down, swim around and try to take photos. I'm not sure I will, I am a little paranoid about someone coming along grabbing my tripod and camera and running off with it, while I am a soggy barefoot mess trying to run after them in a wet dress or something.
Water is perhaps one of my favorite things to incorporate into images because it is so rich in symbolism. What elements do you enjoy in your photos?
