Hello everyone, I hope you all are good, today I come with the last chapter of this wonderful series that I made about all the great movies of the great Quentin Tarantino, it's worth mentioning that, I have told you about all the movies in which Quentin has been the principal director, there are others in which he has been invited director or worked with some other directors, but when I talk about them (because I love them too so I'm sure I'll make a post about them), I won't give them the same name as this post .
The film I will be talking about will be: Jackie Brown, personally isn't my favorite, but from my objective point of view, I think it's one of his best works, besides having one of the best cast.
It's a 1997 film written and directed by the great Quentin Tarantino, the film is based on the 1992 Rum Punch novel by Elmore Leonard, it has a wonderful cast, starring Pam Grier, Robert Forster, Robert De Niro, Samuel L Jackson, Bridget Fonda, and Michael Keaton. This was Tarantino's third film after his success after Reservoir Dogs (1992) and Pulp Fiction (1994).
As we all know Quentin has tapes of all kinds, in this case this is his Blaxploitation film, for those who don't know what this term means, it was a cinematographic movement that took place at the beginning of the '70s in the USA, which was literally films of black exploitation, that is, films with African-American protagonists, and in a more urban environment, that is, gangs, but there were also exceptions like this one that was a "simple" flight attendant.
Before I said it was not my favorite, but not that it wasn't good, and that's because its plot is a little quieter and less violent, a more classic and smooth film without so much blood in between, but with some dialogues spectacular.
The film is about a flight attendant called Jackie Brown, who isn't doing very well, and needs money, which leads her to act as a delivery girl for an arms dealer wanted by the police called Ordell. At first they do well, they make good money, but one day Jackie is surprised by the customs accused of drug trafficking, but she's determined not to go to jail so she helps the police to catch Ordell, with the condition of leaving it free, the film is well established, well structured, in addition to all one of the preferred performances of the people is of a former bank robber played by the great Robert De Niro who is a friend of Ordell, but who has a Very volatile temperament, but helps Ordell to defend himself.
The truth is that the film is very good, it is totally worth seeing and even more since Quentin's film is more different from the others, 100% recommended as always.
For those who do not know, Quentin announced that he would only make 10 films before his retirement, and well, they go 9, although, kill bill was considered a very long single film for what they divided, but, the truth is I am not sure if tell it as one or two movies, likewise, this series ends here, until Quentin announces his last or his last 2 movies, so we will be pending to bring my opinion as soon as possible.
