Fire is a rapid oxidation of a material in a chemical combustion process, which produces heat, light, and various other chemical reactions. Slower oxidation processes such as corrosion or digestion are not included in the definition. Fire is of varying intensity energy and has a form of light (with wavelength also outside the visual spectrum so as to be invisible to the human eye) and heat which also can infect.
