The Human Hair is an protein Polymer of Proteins like the nails of our toes and fingers.
They are non living ! Secreted around the sebacuous glands underneath the skin.
Since they are non living , high molecular structure polymers of Proteins , they are not subject bless to living organisms putrefying activities which results in structural breakdowns , known as Decay.
They are not easily attacked by putrifying living organisms resulting in decay.
Nevertheless, it should be noted that over ages, like the pilymeised plastics, they are gradually broken down by slow chemical degradation ,especially by oxidation.
Since continued accumulation of these non biodegrade substances could constitute environmental nuisance, they should be best disposed of by recycling into other useful products!!
