I remember digging some sweet potatoes in our old house in my younger years. The kids in our neighbourhood would gather on our backyard to find some signs of sweet potato underneath. Reading your narration made me recollect that early memorable years. Sweet potatoes are best when fried although some prefer steaming it but it is all about preferences anyway. I am glad you were able to harvest plenty of them. You must be very hardworking to dig them and it is worthy eventually because they are delicious to eat. Slipping on the muddy path is part of the process, and a moment of laughter for your sibling. Living in a province is simple but expensive because what you experienced cannot be experienced by people in the city. A simple wood for fire and a fresh harvested sweet potato—a simple meal and a memorable experience. Oh I wish to go back soon in our home to get some potato. They mean so much to me.
