Chapter Two:The Holy Civil War
507 AC
The death of Marcus was a major impact on the Holy Council. The Holy Council lost its founder and leader to the Northern Kingdom and can't even retrieve his corpse. The Holy Council must elect a new leader. The new candidates were Gerald The Faithful, Azar The Wealthy, and Minisius The Hopeless.
-Gerald The Faithful was best friends with Marcus and most of the people favored Gerald. Azar The Wealthy was angry about this and tried to do many things to make Gerald look bad so that Azar will win the title of Elder. Azar never succeeded. Minisius was hated by because he was a lord of the Holy Council and most skilled in archery he became a candidate. Minisius hated Marcus because Marcus killed Minisius' father Lucius and it was also recorded that Minisius was mentally retarded. The Northern Kingdom did not continue to press on there force to conquer the south because they feel that there equipment isn't strong enough to launch a military campaign against the Holy Council. The Northerners have never seen such strong armor and such heavy swords so they ceased fire with the Holy Council which the Holy Council gladly accepted.

-Because of Minisius' foolishness, he was usually controlled by his advisors. Minisius held the city of Praven. One day, Dino who was Minisius' chief advisor and was Minisius' most trustworthy subordinate advised Minisius to build up a massive army and Veluca. Dino told Minisius that Gerald and Azar are supported by the many and Minisius has the least supporters. Dino tells Minisius that attacking Veluca and seizing the title "Elder" by force is the only way to take over the Holy Council. The councilers and generals in Veluca were cowards and most of the troops in Veluca left to go to Uxkhal to serve Gerald and Dhirim to serve Azar. Dhirim is famous for its huge population. Veluca also has very rough terrain and it is a very easy area to defend. Dino also possess the city of Wercheg and has a huge army. Minisius agrees with Dino and takes his army of 5000 to attack Veluca. Dino takes an army of 4500 from Wercheg and marches towards Veluca. A total of 9500 was more than enough to take the city of Veluca. Veluca only possess 1000 troops and the 1000 were weak and low-tiered. Veluca has a river where the population and troops usually drink from so Dino poisoned the water and THEN demanded the councilers of Veluca to surrender. Three days have passed, and a large population and majority of the Velucian army dropped. The leaders of Veluca surrendered to Minisius. Minisius declared himself as Elder listening to all of Dino's advices. Minisius was like a puppet to Dino.
-The news quickly spread throughout the central plains!
509 AC
Minisius demanded everyone under the Holy Council to serve under him or they will die. Gerald and Azar was very angry at what happened and refused to submit! Gerald and Azar were then known as rebels and the Holy Civil War begins! Azar sees Gerald as a great threat and also vulnerable at the same time. Gerald has many, many followers and Gerald believes that he must fight to save what Marcus founded. Gerald does not care whether he dies or not, he will fight for righteousness and for the people suffering.
511 AC
It has been 3 years since Minisius took the title of Elder and began the Holy Civil War. Many battles have been fought, many died and Minisius is winning the war. Azar and Gerald have remained neutral but tensions were growing.
-Lord Azar demanded Gerald to merge into his faction so that they will be strong enough and united to stand a chance against Minisius. Gerald refused because he will not serve under one who is less faithful as him. Dino noticed that Azar is very displeased with Gerald so Dino advises Minisius to stop attacking the two and let the two destroy eachother.
512 AC
Azar declares war on Gerald and launches a massive army to capture his capital city, Uxkhal. Gerald was not prepared for this but Gerald was good at making friends and even befriended a Northern General named Liu Gao. Liu Gao owes Gerald many debts for saving his life from the Ronins in the northern forests. Gerald requests Liu Gao to bring an army to rescue him. Liu Gao was not a very high ranked general and it was forbidden for Liu Gao to help a member of the Holy Council but Liu Gao did not care. Liu Gao has found true friendship with Gerald so he takes his entire army and family to Uxkhal. Liu Gao knew that if he returned, he and his entire family would be executed so he joined Gerald's faction betraying the Northern Kingdom for friendship.
-After several days of marching, Azar and his massive army arrives at Uxkhal and besieged it. Gerald's army was not large enough but Gerald held off Azar for a week. While Liu Gao was on his way to Uxkhal, he encountered Ronins. The Ronin leader asked him why he is marching south. Liu Gao told him that he has left the Northern Kingdom to help his friend Gerald. The Ronin leader called him a fool and that with that small of an army, he could never save Gerald. The Ronin Leader likes how Liu Gao valued friendship and makes an offer. The Ronin Leader reveals himself as Toyimotai, a master of Bushido and he decides to join Liu Gao if Liu Gao makes Toyimotai a General of his army. Toyimotai says he wants to stop the life of a bandit and he has many followers who are also willing to do something better. Liu Gao gladly accepts and bows down to the Ronins. Liu Gao now having an army of 3000, 2000 of them being skilled samurais arrives at Uxkhal.
-When Gerald saw Liu Gao's banner, Gerald leads his army to sally forth. Gerald attacks Azar's army on the front, and Liu Gao attacks Azar's army from behind. Confusion was all over Azar's army. The Ronin's were very skilled with the katana and caused terror upon Azar's army. Azar was furious and retreated 3000 paces and camped there. Liu Gao enters Uxkhal and Gerald very gladly welcomes him. Liu Gao told Gerald what happened, and Gerald regrets asking Liu Gao for help. Now Liu Gao can never return to the north legally. Although Gerald is very faithful, Liu Gao's friendship moved him beyond faithfulness. Liu Gao proposes an oath of brotherhood. The two made an oath, an oath that made them brothers.
513 AC
-Reinforcements and supplies from Dhirm was sent to Azar's camp. Dino advises Minisius to attack Dhrim because it is very weakly defended. Dino sees this as the perfect opportunity to unify the Holy Council. Dino tells Minisius that after Dhrim is taken, Uxkhal will also be taken! Azar and Gerald are constantly fighting at Uxkhal and they are constantly losing casulties. Minisius brings his army of 6,000 and marched quickly towards Dhirm and captured it within a day.
-When Azar hears news that Dhirm has been captured by Minisius, he almost had a heart attack! Azar was so angry and was in a dillema. Azar also heard that Minisius is marching towards Uxkhal and unify all the central plains under his tyranny! Azar has no choice but to surrender to Gerald. Gerald accepts his surrender and Azar warns Gerald that Minisius is marching towards Uxkhal with a massive army! Toyimotai sees this as an opportunity to display his true skill in battle, and wishes to lead an army of no more than 400 to intercept Minisius. Liu Gao and Gerald refused to let him do so fearing Toyimotai and the 400 will die pointless deaths. Toyimotai was angry and he takes 400 of the Ronin he brought with him to intercept Minisius without orders. There is a very thick forest between Dhirm and Praven and Toyimotai ordered ditches to be made immediately and oil to be poured all over the area. Toyimotai hid all his troops in the forest and spent days waiting for Minisius' army. When the sun went down, and the bright moon went up into the sky, Minisius' massive army arrives and marches in the center of all the traps Toyimotai set. Toyimotai ordered the ronin to fire flaming arrows at all the oil. The trees were covered with oil, the grass, the leaves, everywhere! Within seconds, the entire forest was in total fire! It was also very windy during that night, and the fire fed the flames! Minisius' army was struck by heavy confusion!!! Toyimotai and his 400 troops ran out of the forest to avoid being burned. Minisius' army was surrounded by fire and could not find a way to escape! Minisius lost his massive army in the flames while he remained in Dhirm, and Dino remained in Veluca.
-Minisius sees that he can't hold Dhirm for long because he has few troops and the people are revolting. Minisius takes whatever he has left and returns to Veluca. When Minisius returns to Veluca and tells Dino what happened, Dino was furious! Dino lost his patience and pushed Minisius off his seat! Minisius says "What... are you doing?!" Dino replies "Saving the central plains from fools like you." Dino unsheath his sword and stabs Minisius seven times. Dino removes the Holy Council and declares himself as King. Dino forms the Kingdom of Veluca!!
514 AC
-Gerald cries at what has happened to the peace and unity created by Marcus and will do whatever it takes to restore the Holy Council. Gerald declares himself as Elder of the Holy Council and captures Dhirm. Liu Gao became a High Counciler, and Toyimotai was given the title, Imperator of God. Gerald had many followers who has hope in the Holy Council.
-Instead of pressing attacks on Gerald's Holy Council, Dino tries to bring the people on the eastern central plains to believe in him and remain loyal to him. King Dino did many things such as lowering taxes, and giving out free food to the poor.
516 AC
In the south, tribes have been formed and they begin to fight eachother for supremacy. The climate in the south is very hot and the people there prefer to wear very little. The tribes in the south were very barbaric, they enjoyed violent actions. These barbarians train themselves very well in melee combat but they have never been taught how to ride horses.
-Meanwhile, the Kingdom of Veluca begins recruiting a massive army to expand there territory to the east. There were many legends about the eastern lands but none were proven true. Some say the dead rise and go to the east. Some say Demons dwell in the east. Dino brings a massive army of 50,000 and marches east to explore.
-The news spread to the Holy Council and Gerald assembled his army of 30,000 on a military campaign to destroy the Kingdom of Veluca and reunite the Holy lands under one banner. Gerald first captured Wercheg, and then Praven with ease. Imperator Toyimotai volunteers to lead an army to capture Veluca so Gerald gave Toyimotai 15,000 Holy Swordsmen and 5,000 Crusaders. Toyimotai made an oath in front of all the Councilers and the 20,000 troops granted to him that he will not fail and he will achieve victory and saying if he fails, he will burn in Hell for all eternity!
-When Toyimotai arrived at Veluca, he sees something strange. He has not heard any news about King Dino ever since he went on the eastern campaign. Toyimotai demanded the Velucians to surrender, and within minutes the Velucians surrendered without a fight. Toyimotai did not expect any of this, but also did not feel that there is a trap in Veluca so Toyimotai proceeded into Veluca. Gerald enters Veluca and the Kingdom of Veluca has been annhilated! The restoration of the Holy Council is complete! The civil war lasted 8 years.
