Chapter Four:The Forbidden Cave of The Black Heavens
542 AC
The council's new Elder is Palot. The council believes the Northern Kingdom is too strong so they wanted to search for new allies. Gavin ventures into the south with a small army searching for allies. Gavin meets the Lagul Tribe who tend to have very fierce warriors and proposes an alliance with them and offering the city of Wercheg if the Lagul Tribe pushes the Northern Kingdom away from the Holy Lands. The Lagul Tribe agrees with this alliance. The Lagul Tribe's army consists of unprofessional warriors who are excellently trained in any sort of melee combat. Their army was basicly the entire population making there army very destructive and fearful. The Lagul Tribe immediately sends a massive army of 300,000 savages directly to Dhirm without any strategy. The Holy Council has never seen such a massive army before and was inspired and also insulted as well by the fact that there army wore no armor or clothes. The leader of their tribe was Lalo.
543 AC
General Zhao Ming looked over the walls on Dhirm and saw a huge mob of clothless men with heavy weapons charging towards the city! General Zhao Ming noticed they don't have shields and that they have been moving for weeks so he assembled an army of Elite Archers on the walls and fired at will. The Lagul tribe had no siege equipment against the walls so they climbed up. While the Lagul tribe charged at the walls, they screamed like beasts! This brought so much fear to the Elite Archers. After four hours of battle, the Elite Archers have begun extremely exhausted and lost a huge amount of morale. The Lagul tribe eventually climbed up the walls and started butchering the exhausted archers. The infantry charged at the Laguls and killed many but they just keep appearing like theres no end to them. General Zhao Ming and his three sons Zhao Lian, Zhao Lu, Zhao Er were fighting bravely until Zhao Lu and Zhao Lian were cut down by the barbarians. Zhao Ming yelled at Zhao Er telling him to go to Uxkhal and warn Gorio and Liu Wei. After Zhao Ming gave the order, Zhao Ming was struck by a huge axe on his upperback killing him! Zhao Er fled with tears! The barbaric Laguls were very violent and bloodthristy, they killed absolutely anyone they saw. Soldier, Captain, General and even the peasants. The elder, the women, the children and the babies! They were all butchered like animals by the barbarians. The barbarians wiped out the population of Dhirm, only very few escaped this massacre. Over 400,000 innocent peasants died in this massacre. Shops was burned, houses were broken into.
When Palot heard this news, he ordered Gavin to be chained and whipped for a week. After Gavin's torture, Gavin cried and begged God for forgiveness. All Gavin did was follow orders and it was for the people, he did not know that it ended up as a massacre. Elder Palot was furious and broke the alliance with the Lagul Tribe. Instead of sending troops over to attack the western central plains, he ordered Gavin to lead an elite army of 70,000. 50,000 being Holy Swordsmen, 10,000 being Holy Longbowmen and the other 10,000 being Crusaders to attack and annex the south.
544 AC
General Zhao Er reports the death of Zhao Ming and his entire family to King Huang Fu Di telling him a huge army of barbarians charged into Dhirim and destroyed everything! King Huang Fu Di at the age of 77 had tears coming down his eyes. Huang Fu Di gets off his seat, tells Zhao Er to follow him and walks out of the palace. Huang Fu Di walks towards a very high hill. On top of the very high hill was a beautiful view of the northern kingdom.
King Huang Fu Di said to Zhao Er "Your father... he served my family for two generations. My father always told me that out of all the military officers, General Zhao Ming was the most trustworthy and most talented. After my father died, Zhao Ming helped me destroy the other states and unified the North. He has fought countless battles for now. I will not forget this man. Now that you are the only man left in the Zhao family, you must live and be like your father. A man who does everything for the country." Zhao Er hearing these words cried and King Huang Fu Di asked him "What kind of man do you want to be?" Zhao Er wiped his tears and said "A man like my father." King Huang Fu Di told him to remember what he said and also told him "If you are like your father, then the North will prevail. I want you to assist my son when I am gone with your life." Zhao Er replied "I will do all I can!" King Huang Fu Di said "Can you swear to the Heavens? Can you swear to your dead father? Can you also swear to me?" Zhao Er made the oath and if he breaks it he shall burn in Hell alive and never have any descendents. King Huang Fu Di felt that he was ready to leave this mortal world.
King Huang Fu Di went to see his son and heir Huang Yun. Prince Huang Yun lacked his father's cruel personality and was like a saint to the people. Prince Huang Yun was loved by the people. King Huang Fu Di told Prince Huang Yun to follow him on horseback. King Huang Fu Di lead Prince Huang Yun out of Chang Shang and into a forest. Huang Yun noticed that they are heading to the Forbidden Cave of Black Heavens. Huang Yun heard stories about what lurks in the cave and was in total fear but still followed his father. King Huang Fu Di arrived at the cave and dismounted. He entered the cave with his son. His son asked "What are we doing here?" King Huang Fu Di replied "Are you scared? When I die, I want to be buried in the deepest pits of this cave. Transform this cursed cave into a cursed Mausoleum! I want 500,000 clay soldiers made, and each must have unique faces! These soldiers along with the demons here will protect me for all eternity. Can you do this my son?" Prince Huang Yun replied "I will try." Huang Fu Di yelled "Do not try! You either do or do not!" Huang Yun replied "I will not fail you." King Huang Fu Di was relieved and begun to venture deep into the cave. As they went deeper and deeper, they saw a Huge Red Gate. Huang Yun was very curious and also had a deep fear of what is behind that gate. King Huang Fu Di told his son to not tell anyone about the secrets of this cave. He told his son to block off this gate after he is dead. The Forbidden Cave of Black Heavens! King Huang Fu Di told his son "You are my 12th son and youngest son of the family, you are also the most talented and know how to use people correctly. You will succeed me. General Zhao Er is a man you can trust. Use him correctly and you will crush all who oppose you!"
