WHITE FLAGS
In front of the “United Nations”
are many beautiful flags;
each symbolic of yet another division,
Among nations!
I travel to each nation,
Each has many beautiful flags;
Each symbolic of yet another division,
Among tribes!
I visit each tribe,
Here too I find many beautiful flags,
Each symbolic of yet another division,
Among race, religion and culture!
Wouldn’t it be great!?
If we could trade the all beautiful flags -
For simple white flags...
To remind us to be at peace
with each other.
Wouldn’t it be wonderful?
To open the window one day,
To see millions of white flags,
Meaning peace for you and me!
