It is good to praise the Lord. I mean counting our blessings and naming them one by one everyday, every hour, every minute, and every second; God is really great. We cannot even thank Him enough so at all times we try our best to praise Him because that's the only thing he needs from us; our praises. One thing I've come to understand is that when you thank someone for doing something definitely the person will do it another time for you so when we praise God and thank him for all he has been doing for us he will top it up more abundantly.
