I worked in the television industry for twenty years and I always thought it was funny how little people understood about what they were paying for. I probably had the conversation 500 times about why you couldn't just pay ten dollars and pick out the ten stations you wanted, instead of paying the entire cable bill.

I always told people when Netflix came out, that quality cost money. The NFL players were not going to play for free. That you were not going to get all you wanted with a 10 dollar Netflix account. At the time, I wasn't sure how it would shake out, but here we are, cutting the cord and paying for 8 subscription services and trying to share enough passwords so we're not back up to paying what our cable bill was.

Maybe a company should negotiate prices with all these subscription services and bundle them all together for us. I bet Comcast would be willing to.
