Lately, I've been using the term Visionary Leadership regarding Steem, and who will organize projects, ideas and direction for the platform.
Many aren't familiar with the term which came from a leadership class I once attended.
There are different types of leaders.
We have been operating from what I would call Organizational Leadership, where we looked to Ned to lead due to his "Positional Power". As a Co-Founder and CEO of SteemIt, Inc he naturally held positional power and was looked upon as a leader due to his Positional Power.
By choice and action, he has moved away from that role.
Now we are aware that SteemIt, Inc. will limit their focus to Blockchain Development new leaders will get more attention. I call these the Visionary Leaders. These are people who have a vision/idea/project and are able to communicate it in a way that other people believe in or follow that idea. They become Visionary Leaders.
It is a powerful form of Leadership because people follow by choice (voluntary)
On a decentralized blockchain such as Steem there will be a number of these people at any given time. They will organize and lead projects, applications and perhaps at some point a voluntary group of people who fundraise, create voting blocks and maybe cooperate at the level of making decisions around future hardforks and development.
Previously many were looking to Ned to solve our problems, from policing abuse to Marketing to Development.
I think most of us now see that Ned is a Large Stake Holder who is the CEO of one blockchain development company. SteemIt, Inc. Unless you work for SteemIt Inc, he is not your CEO, he is not our leader.
His stake and the role SteemIt Inc has played will continue to give him a large amount of influence, but he is not the only leader on Steem.
I think it is great we now have clarification on the role that SteemIt, Inc will play. Only Blockchain Development.
Now the community can focus on finding and supporting the Visionary Leaders. Who lead with their vision and efforts and not from a position of Authority.
