Toadflax Weed
I thought I had found beautiful, yellow snapdragons only to find out that this is a weed called "Toadflax." This plant is also known as "Butter and Eggs."
This is an invasive weed that can grow up to four feet tall. Flowers bloom from early summer to early fall and are commonly mistaken for Snapdragons. Just one plant can start an infestation. This weed can be found on roadsides, fields, abandoned lots and it also invades agriculture areas. I found these weeds in a field that I frequently visited during my nature search.
Here is a closer look.
Thanks for looking!
