Time for your Friday dose of "Have You Smile Today? #27
Do dogs really smile? These two puppies sure do look like they are smiling. The one on the right is my Grand-puppy Charlie, 8 years ago. When a dogs mouth is relaxed and open, their lips will be in an upward position, just like a smile. It shows that they are happy. However, open mouth panting should not be confused with smiling. Charlie and his playmate were playing before this photo was taken and they had so much fun together, so I think they were panting and smiling too.
Another sign of a happy dog is when their ears are in a relaxed position. Look at their eyes. If their eyes are relaxed, and not big and bulging out, your dog is happy. If your dog enjoys walks and play time, you have a happy dog. And when your dog's tongue is sticking out when resting or sleeping, they are so happy and relaxed that they could care less if their tongue is in or out.
Wishing you all a happy, smiling, relaxing weekend!
