Yo, everyone!
I'm glad to see a lot of familiar faces here and I'm happy to kickstart our content creation (which never stopped) with great challenge by @blocktrades and @ocd to introduce ourselves not only to Hive community but also to everyone out there.
Firstly, I'm going to tell something about myself, what I did on Steem, and then I'm going to explain what I expect from this blockchain, its community and witnesses.
So, here it comes...
I'm Mr. Spacely. Simple as that. That's it. Upvote, please. Thanks. Bye.
Ok, JK JK JK...
I'm Mr. Spacely and I'm somewhere in the space. They said I'm somewhere in Europe but that's not in my mind. I tend to think deeper and mostly about big things. By big things, I mean the things that will push our civilization forward. I also want to know the truth, I want to know what is really out there, and I lack interest in small talk.
I also love gaming on PC and science. Those are my two favorite things. Gaming because it gives me joy and relaxation and science because it pushes me to know things, to try to discover what is unknown even in small situations, and it gives me a chance to think deeply and more sanely.
Since the last big financial crisis, I couldn't just accept to see what happened all over the globe so I decided to look more into it. That led me to realize what monetary system we're using which made me hate Fiat money even more. Unfortunately, I didn't dig much further and decided to drop that issue until I stumbled upon Steem blockchain.
Before steeming, I created a group Science Talk and a page Science Adventures on FB in hopes to share good quality content to audience that is interested in space, nature, mathematics, and everything science. By now, both group and page are counting around 50k followers and I'm mostly proud of my group which is really dedicated to talking only about science, unlike many other ''science groups'' on FB.
A month after I founded Science Talk and Science Adventures, I was introduced to Steem blockchain and crypto space. My first plans were to share posts on Steem and get more followers on FB until I realize the power of the blockchain technology and great community using it.
OFC, I couldn't just post without knowing what tech I'm using and what crypto is, so I started to dig deeper into it. After a few months and a great time on Steem blockchain, due to some people, I realized that blockchain technology can change the World and I still believe that.
I literally stopped posting on Facebook and started my crypto journey. I was impressed by how community-driven projects and people who like to volunteer can help so many people and bring value to those projects.
That led me to slowly become a curator on Steem Blockchain. I was curating for SteemGC, Vimm and OCD and having a great time and putting literally 15 hours a day into Steem. It did take a toll on me but it also made me realize what curators are going through and how much they need to be respected. I even wrote this post to thank them and to make other BIG names realize that curators are the gods of our blockchain. Believe it or not.
I also had my Curation Shows on dLIvE and VIMM.TV, and I was helping SteemSTEM by posting Steem articles in my FB group and page, and giving the SteemSTEM team insights of those post with other information and statistics. I will surely start to do it again if @lemouth and
@mobbs are still for it. But, not right now.
As I said, it took a toll on me because of some actions by some people on the blockchain and the whole drama situation so RN, I delegated most of my HP (Hive Power) and I plan to keep it that way until I learn more about the whole situation around me and when I find some passion again. Which I will, for sure. I just need time as I will not pressure myself anymore.
For now, I'm mostly trying to help the Hive blockchain get on another level by promoting it on twitter.
That being said, let's move to another chapter of this post which is what I ''expect'' from the blockchain community and its witnesses.
I'm not someone with a lot of Hive to be listened to but I will say it in hopes that most of the community and witnesses will read it and think about it.
I really do hope that we will build this blockchain on a greedless foundation. I hope greedless is a word xD Pardon me. Everyone from Steem blockchain saw what happened when people become greedy and how it devalues our token and our work.
I will, once again, say what I said a gazillion times on steem blockchain:
IF YOU WANT TO GO FAST, GO ALONE. IF YOU WANT TO GO FAR, GO TOGETHER.
I really do hope we will act according to this quote. I really do hope people will realize our potential and will find the will to stay real during hard times. I also hope people will help in onboarding new users and helping them to know more about this blockchain and great community.
I really do hope we will have that community-driven voluntary mentality and show everyone in crypto space where the real value is.
Now, let me say something to our witnesses.
I know you might not care but I will unvote everyone, except few, and I will vote on you if your actions prove to be community-driven. Which means, you won't think about yourself a lot but about the community, the blockchain, and smaller users.
This might seem like I'm already attacking you, but I'm not. I'm just saying that you might ditch that old steem witness mentality and you might start manually upvoting good quality original content, now and then. Nothing special.
I'm not saying this so I might get an upvote from you one day. I'm saying this because I remember when I was really little and when I saw whales/witness upvote on my post. It was FREAKING MOTIVATING. It is one of the reasons it got me to this point where I can help also, a bit. It got me to the point where I'm trying to onboard the gaming community on Hive blockchain, to the point where I almost graduated writing about it ( I had to write another topic). It got me to promote the blockchain technology and crypto space in hopes to make this world a better place.
Please, engage more not for the votes but for something bigger. Something greater. Please. Not for me, for the community which is supporting you and making this blockchain valuable.
That all being said, I'm looking forward to the more decentralized and valuable community in terms of building something together, valuable but also long term.
ATM, I'm going to power-down and cash out my Steem for the first time ever and buy some Hive gradually and power it up and hopefully start curating like in good 'ol days.
Until then,
Peace yo!
