Grain of Sand (catching people's eye)

Someone once said to me: "I feel like a grain of sand, totally insignificant!"

It was their way of expressing to me that nobody ever notices them among the crowd, no more than anyone would notice a single grain of sand upon a vast desert plain. Now this could be considered as a very convincing statement, but I personally think that to say a single grain of sand can never ever be noticed more than any other may not be entirely accurate.

For all it takes is one grain of sand to get into your eye and that tiny, otherwise insignificant particle suddenly becomes very noticeable indeed almost impossible to ignore. So my advice (if you want to be noticed) is to stop hiding among the dunes, ride the wind and catch someone's eye!
