Simple. Every library/framework has its logic. Yes you need the language it was built on, but it is a different ball game

Frameworks like react etc, even helps you understand Javascript more because you'll always run into issues that would force you into going back to learning a specific part of JS.
I, like many others fell into the trap of attempting to know everything about the "basics" of js. But you'll quickly realize that you can't possibly cover everything.
Pick up a framework learn along the way.
I preferred further maths. He was one of the best teachers so i easily learned it. I struggled with maths
