I've always liked impressionist and oriental art. The simplicity of Chinese and Japanese ink painting have a calming effect on me. The impressionist use of colors and brush style is hard to describe. It is like a mix of realistic and abstract. Below is my attempt at merging both styles using MyPaint on my Ubuntu Linux laptop.
