Utility
Utility is defined as the reward a social agent derives from by undertaking a certain choice. For example a cat derives it's utility by catching mice. Esentially, utility can be understood as derived satisfaction by doing something.
Utility of Hive
Hive grants it's users the ability to share experiences from across the boundaries, and beyond traditions and cultures. However, this is not the only usecase. Increasingly, we've seen apps like Actifit that grant us users greater utility in terms of being healthier, and being better ourselves. Such, apps and ecosystems must be built on Hive that grant us utility in the real world, that is apart ftom the monetary gains. Just a few days back, I was made aware of such a project being undertaken by
Here are few problems that I've been able to identify by visiting and travelling to places, and whilst commuting to work.
Healthcare systems, need to become cheaper and more affordable, hive could play a role here, by creating a marketplace for cheaper and more affordable medicines, especially the ones that are sold by big pharma industries at exhorbitant prices.
Foreigners and immigrants, sometimes lack access to basic banking facilities, and it's a tiring process getting all those documents ready. Hive could play a major role in creating and managing a universal identity, which will help our less fortunate friends.
Creating a basic income security and stronger consensus mecanisms for skilled labour, individuals, professionals and entepreneurs, away from centralized political environment and political instability, thus granting them the freedom of innovation and greater economic and business opportunities. This can be done by connecting Hive with IPFS.
Last but the not the least, this world our society needs a common ground, upon which we can move forward with our lives in the real world, in the wake of global economic collapse, and social instability in various sections of our society and countries. Hive could provide that by creating a shadow society/college, of individuals that would help and provide their own expertise to different parts of the world, especially the ones that are on the brink of war or collapse. Don"t laugh I got this idea from marvel and justice league, but this may provide a real world solution to the problem of hierarchy and economic privilege, that certain sections have.
Apart from this, a few days back in our discussions on discord, we had on our cards universal basic income and the difficulties, such concepts pose in implementations in our given present world order.
"Do you know more ways in which Hive could change our lives, do leave your ideas below in the comment section. Let's see how we can change our society and ourselves with the power of Hive."
Have a great weekend
