La casa de papel is a Spanish series created by Álex Pina and produced by Atresmedia in collaboration with Vancouver Media for its broadcast in Antena 3. Starring Ursula Corberó, Itziar Ituño and Álvaro Morte, among others, was presented at the III FesTVal of Spring Television in Burgos in March 2017. It was released on May 2, 2017 and ended on November 23rd of the same year, with a total of 15 chapters. Netflix acquired the distribution rights of the series later, which is why its audience has extended to other countries, generally under the name of Money Heist. 1
It is the most viewed non-English speaking series in Netflix history. 2 The platform has confirmed the production of new episodes for the year 2019, in which the creator and executive producer Álex Pina will have the most part of the cast. 3
The series begins with the robbery of the National Mint and Timbre factory. The whole robbery is planned by the professor (Álvaro Morte), with a perfecta4 execution of the muggers Tokyo (Úrsula Corberó), Nairobi (Alba Flores), Rio (Miguel Herrán), Moscow (Paco Tous), Berlin (Pedro Alonso), Denver (Jaime Lorente), Helsinki (Darko Peric) and Oslo (Roberto García). The holdup will happen in the factory but they will not be alone in it, there are hostages, the workers of the factory together with the students of the British college who were on tour. The assailants intend to win the favor of public opinion in order to escape.
