There is nothing Mrs Welshstacker loves more than dragging poor old me and 1/2 pint out on a Sunday morning to do some pointless shopping. You know the kind I mean.... The kind where she doesn't know what she wants till she sees what she wants!!! But for some reason she is compelled to get up and not only go shopping on Sunday but insist we go with her, and I know why this is, it's because if it's really busy I can drive and she just jumps out and leaves me to fight for the parking spaces. #firstworldproblems
Right I thought to myself, if I have to be here why not take some pictures and make a blog about it. So this is me trying to spend my £2 silver Britannia here in Asda (or Walmart in the USA).
We do the usual walking up and down the aisle looking for some pointless bargain!! Now although I don't have any rules for my #silverchallenge it's easier if I can find 1 item under £2 so that I can just hand over the britannia on its own for full effect.
This is where the tupperware aisle comes in handy. So what do I need?? You can never have enough cereal containers, so that's what I bought and a bargain at £1.99 reduced from £4.
Practical and does exactly what it says in the box.
Now the big question is, do I still have my britannia??
The lady at the till was a little bit older than the other sales assistants/cashiers I've dealt with so far in this #silverchallenge. So I was a bit worried that she would have her head screwed on, know exactly what it was and I'd be kissing goodbye to my coin. Not the case this time suckers!! She thought it was a £5 coin (made from cypro-nickle) and said that she could not accept it. I feel so relieved what I hear those words. So after she hands it back I give her the 2 X £1 coins and wait for my change. Now that it's safely back in my pocket I explain what it is and what my point was for doing it. You know when you get that glazed over look from people who really don't care, well I got one this morning....
Where to next? Someone did say a sports shop to buy a football.... It's a good a place as any. Wish me luck.
