When silverd510@silverd510 comes up with ideas theyre usually pretty good, but when it comes to #tags, and more specifically tag posts, he's a genius. His latest post idea for the #steemsilvergold group is a "TWELVE DAYS OF CHRISTMAS" theme and involves picking 12 Precious Metal items you'd love to receive.

Take a look at his twelve days of Christmas and see for yourself.

Here are the rules he made up for this little posting sequence:

  • Start off with the lowest dollar items, building up to the one thing that would truly blow you away if you got it as a gift.

  • The items have to be realistic!! No one is going to gift you an 1895CC Morgan silver dollar. Unless you are related to Bill Gates or any other billionaire.

  • The top item can not exceed a value of $2000

So for DAY 6 - The White Lion of MORTIMER (2oz)

Value - $50

This is the 8th release in the Queen's Beasts series, and it features the White Lion of MORTIMER. So far I've managed to pick up a few of the previous 7 and the return, should I choose to sell, on the earlier coins is already fantastic. I have no plan to ever sell my collection of QB's and actually want to find a way to display them because they all look simply amazing.

  • It contains 2 ounces of .9999 fine Silver
  • measures an impressive 38.61 mm in diameter
  • and a very chunky 6 mm thick.

The QB series features the heraldic beasts that stood guard at The Queen's coronation: lion, griffin, falcon, bull, yale, white lion, greyhound, dragon, unicorn and horse.

The history bit:

The White Lion of Mortimer descended to the Queen through Edward IV. The shield shows a white rose encircled by a sun, known as "white rose en soleil". Both of these appear on the Great Seals of Edward IV and Richard III, and were used by George VI while Duke of York. The White Lion is uncrowned, unlike the Lion of England.
