When silverd510@silverd510 comes up with ideas theyre usually pretty good, but when it comes to #tags, and more specifically tag posts, he's a genius. His latest post idea for the #steemsilvergold group is a "TWELVE DAYS OF CHRISTMAS" theme and involves picking 12 Precious Metal items you'd love to receive.

Take a look at his twelve days of Christmas and see for yourself.

Here are the rules he made up for this little posting sequence:

  • Start off with the lowest dollar items, building up to the one thing that would truly blow you away if you got it as a gift.

  • The items have to be realistic!! No one is going to gift you an 1895CC Morgan silver dollar. Unless you are related to Bill Gates or any other billionaire.

  • The top item can not exceed a value of $2000.

Value - below $5

I don't think I've ever kept this one a secret, but I ❤️ US silver coins. Lots of people call it "junk" silver, but to me it is anything but that.

I already have a few pieces I've been kindly given, by you, the amazing folks of #steemsilvergold and to kick-start this twelve day challenge, this is my first pick.

The most commonly collected "junk-silver" coins were minted before 1965 and include Morgan and Peace dollars; Liberty Head "Barber," Walking Liberty, Franklin and Kennedy half dollars; Liberty Head "Barber," Standing Liberty and Washington quarters; Liberty Head "Barber," Winged Liberty Head "Mercury" and Roosevelt dimes; and Jefferson "Wartime" nickels.

Dollars

  • Morgan (1878–1904 & 1921) -- 90-percent silver
  • Peace (1921–1928 and 1934–1935) -- 90-percent silver

Half-Dollars

  • Liberty Head "Barber" (1892–1915) -- 90-percent silver
  • Walking Liberty (1916–1947) -- 90-percent silver
  • Franklin (1948–1963) -- 90-percent silver
  • Kennedy (1964) -- 90-percent silver
  • Kennedy (1965–1970) -- 40-percent silver

Quarters

  • Liberty Head "Barber" (1892–1916) -- 90-percent silver
  • Standing Liberty (1916–1930) -- 90-percent silver
  • Washington (1932, 1934–1964) -- 90-percent silver

Dimes

  • Liberty Head "Barber" (1892–1916) -- 90-percent silver
  • Winged Liberty Head "Mercury" (1916–1945) -- 90-percent silver
  • Roosevelt (1946–1964) -- 90-percent silver

Nickels

  • Jefferson "Wartime" (1942 (partial)-1945) -- 35-percent silver

OK, I think that pretty much covers all the silver coins that may or may not still be in circulation in your change (USA ONLY). Take a quick look, if you find any, send them my way.
