When giving presents to your children remember a few things - toys break and are forgotten, money in the bank sounds great, but fiat devalues, so the only things that really last forever are love, knowledge and GOLD.
The first 2 cost nothing to dispense and should be given on a regular basis. The 3rd is GOLD and during these "modern" times, I think we've all forgotten how important the gift of gold can be.
If you look up GOLD you'll see that it is described as

You see all throughout history gold has been used as a storage and a method of transferring wealth from one generation to the next. Yet over time, Jo-Public has been forced to believe that only "paper" currency has value!! Well NOT I!!
So for my little 1/2pint, I gave him not only the gift of Love, but also knowledge and GOLD:
He knows I love him... God only knows why I do after some of the stuff he tries!! Only a parent will know what love is when at 2:30 in the morning your screaming child wants to go down stairs and play/eat/drink milk/go for a walk....
I'll try and impart some knowledge about what real money is, and educate him that Precious metals are the only real form of money (everything else is just currency).
1/2pint was born early on the morning of the 4th of December 2015. So for no other reason that that, I decided that 4 would be his lucky number(obviously, till he's old enough to pick his own). So to go along with the Platinum 4's both me and his mother now have, I got our "golden child" the #mene 24k gold 4 charm.
Weighing in at a nice 2.17g of pure gold, this special little gift will always be his. The truth is, everything I buy will inevitably end up being his, such is life. But should he ever find himself in a bad place and hit rock-bottom, I know the things I get for him now will allow him to hopefully pull himself back up.
Unlike fiat, Precious Metals do NOT devalue over time through inflation and although these gifts will never make him rich, it could one day preventing from becoming poor.
