I'm so happy to say I have an "official" BYB bar. This is the second instalment of his fantastic, little, 1oz bars. I was lucky enough to get in relatively early on with last year's release, and managed to pick up a low(ish) number that corresponds with my birth date.
@backyardbullion is one of the few precious metal enthusiasts here, in the UK, that pours his own bars. Not only does he pour his own bars/rounds, but I think he's unique by making sure ALL his silver is Hallmarked by the Edinburgh asset office in Scotland.
With a very limited mintage of only 50, it makes this little bar even more desirable and definitely a little collectors item for the future.
To my fellow stackers that know me, and those that don't, for me to part with my hard earned fiat usually takes something special - I believe the term is "getting blood from a stone!!".
Well these little things aren't cheap, coming in at £26 (delivered), I must really like them to spend that much each year on them.
When silver starts to reach its true value and potential, £26 will seem like a drop in the ocean. Not only will an ounce of silver (at spot) more than cover what I paid out today, but the collectors value will add an extra premium over spot.
I can't recommend stacking silver highly enough. It doesn't have to be expensive silver either. You can start with generic silver rounds, valued at just over current spot prices. You may even want to start by collecting your own #steem round?
All I know is that everything I save NOW will help me and my family in the future.
