Thisbis the bit i can never get my head around... The US can do what ever it wants with its coinage, but i honesty cant see how it fits in with the rest of the world? Why eould the like of china and russia value silver and particularly gold in US coinag?

What happens when (not if) the US is no longer the worlds reserve currency and has no purchasing power globally?? There aint no way the Saudi will take 10c a barrel of oil, or what ever you think your conversion rate will be.
