to the point that it's not safe to hold at home?

For me, when things go south with the banking sector and markets crash, the only safe place to have your Silver will be at home. I have a safe, and for what places like banks and safety deposit boxes charge (per year), my safe has paid for itself already. I'm never going to be rich enough to have the holdings of a Scrooge McDuck, so a good quality wall safe is more than enough for a few thousand ounces.

Like I said, I'm 100% physical and 100% hold my own.
