The day of reckoning is finally upon us! Will the world fall apart at 11pm this evening as the UK "officially" begins the widthdrawl process of leaving the European Union?? If you don't hear from me tomorrow, assume all forms of communication are down and the country is now at war with the rest of Europe!!
You think I'm joking?!?! Well that's the picture some scaremongerers have been paiting these past few days. Me, personally, I think that very little will change for the average, everyday person. The sun will still rise, the air will still be just about breathable and prices in the shops will continue to increase as the central banks monetary policies continue to screw us ALL over.... But there we are, what do I know!!
What I do know, is how to make a quick buck. This is where the Royal Mint and the "BREXIT" coin could be a little gold mine waiting to be exploited.
Its been a very soggy morning, and I've already called in to the RM before heading to work. Luckily for me, the mint is less than a 2 minute detour on my route to work, so it took me less than 15 minutes to get in, get my loot and get out. I say "get my loot", but by the time arrived (06:30), the shelves had already been picked clean by fellow coin collectors and flippers.
Luckily for me I had stayed up to reserve my coins online, expecting for demand at the mint itself to be far greater than normal, due to the special STRIKE YOUR OWN TOURS they are doing through out today
So when I finally did manage to make it on to the site, very heavy traffic was cause the site to be incredibly slow, these were the options available to me

Although I was sat there waiting, by the time I got to the front of the queue, all the gold coins and sovereigns had sold out.
I picked up my maximum allowance of 3 silver proofs and they should be arriving next week. Once they do, I'll may do an unboxing video, but I will definitely get some shots of the coin close up. I'm hoping that because I was one of the first, my CoA number will be low enough to pick me up a premium when I come to resell it.
