Hive Power Up Day is an initiative that takes place on the first day of every month in the Hive blockchain community. On this day, users are encouraged to convert their liquid Hive tokens into Hive Power, which is a long-term investment in the Hive blockchain. This is achieved by transferring Hive tokens from their liquid wallet to their Hive Power account.
By powering up, users increase their influence and voting power in the Hive community, which allows them to participate more actively in decision-making processes and support content creators by upvoting their posts. It also helps to increase the overall value and stability of the Hive blockchain by reducing the circulating supply of liquid tokens.
Hive Power Up Day isnt mandatory, but it is a community-driven event that aims to promote long-term commitment and investment in the Hive blockchain.
This is by far my biggest commitment to #hive. I sent over 6953 hive from my #binance account, and powered up 6950 of it.
With just over 4000 hive already powered up, this has increased my current #hivepower holdings to just over 11,000 HP, a net increase in over 175%. Thats a pretty large investment by anyone's standards.
I have no idea what im going to do with my new found Hivepower..... I should start upvoting more, finding new and interesting blogs to give some encouragement to.
