Today's the day the Royal mint release their newest "silver proof", Paddington bear coin.

Since this was the day I usually attend the RM to pick up my 10 pense swaps, I thought I'd add it to my collection to along with the 2 I bought 1/2pint back in 2018.

Ever since the introduction of the 2016 Beatrix Potter (Peter rabbit) series, the RM has been milking the public for all its worth and churning out #shitcoin after shit coin every year.

But they know us all so well....... And we keep coming back for more!!

So that's my silver proof (big box) and a BU next to it on the postcard of Liz.

NOW FOR THE INFO BIT:

The only good thing I can think of about this waste of money is that they've cut the mintage figures by over half.

Last year they made 60,000 each of the 2 designs, but only made 25,000 for 2019. You can still pick up the 2018 versions today and the RM even offer a 10% discount when buying online..... Looks like the Paddington bear series isn't as popular as they thought it might be.

These are definitely ones to put away in a box and forget about for 20yrs. They may be worth what I paid for them by then.
