Welcome to SKATEHIVE and Hive blockchain.

The world's first Web3 Skate community! A place in cyberspace where users are rewarded for their skateboarding content! Like instagram but built on a blockchain. No investment required! Rewards are doled out to incentivize use-case of the blockchain. The more you bring to the platform, the more you will be rewarded!

You can see the crypto rewards to the right of each post. The rewards shouldn't be the first thing on your mind 🤑. Try to focus more on the idea that you are building a legacy... a permanent archive of your progress on a blockchain that will exist forever... like these things:

First, you need to make a hive wallet. Do that, using the register link i sent. The link will take you to a website called PeakD, which stands for Peak Decentralization.
PeakD is a Hive Blockchain front-end.

🔑 Make sure you save those private keys 🔑.

You can email them to yourself for now, but make sure you print them out and delete the email when your account becomes valuable.

Once your account name/wallet has been created, you need to make a simple login for front-end websites that interface with the Hive Blockchain, using Hivesigner (phone📱) or Hive Keychain (computer💻). It will ask you for your username that you created, and then the Active Key from the private key document that you saved.

It will ask you to create an easy password for signing into Hive Blockchain front-ends.

After you sign in to PeakD, search at the top "skateboarding" under "communities" and join SKATEHIVE.

SkateHype, is a phone-app front-end that posts content INTO the skatehive community.

When you download Skatehype from the app store, you will need to connect your hive account to it, using Hivesigner/Hive Keychain login.

Hive is a blockchain based in social interactions like posts, comments and upvotes where for each one, you can be rewarded. When you connect your Hive account to Skatehype.com and enable auto-posting to Hive, all your Skatehype.com content is also shared inside a skateboarding community built upon Hive blockchain called Skatehive.

Community members of Skatehive then vote on your content and this generates Hive Token Rewards.

Glossary

Hive Rewards Pool
A pool of tokens that are derived from inflation of the HIVE token. It is used to incentivize the social aspect of Hive to create, distribute and dig up great content.

When you give or receive upvotes on content, the monetary value is coming via the share of the rewards pool. The greater one's HIVE POWER (HP), the more the upvote is worth.

Communities on Hive and How They Work
Communities on the Hive blockchain are modeled after Subreddits on the Reddit social media site. You can think of Communities as simply a gathering place for like-minded content creators and users.

Hive Private Keys

Owner Key: Used for recovering accounts and regenerating other keys as well as setting a new password.
Active Key: Used to transfer and manage funds, vote for witnesses or approve DHF proposals.
Posting Key: Used to broadcast posting transactions.
Memo Key: Used for decrypting encrypted messages within the memo parameter of fund transfers.

Front End
A website or app to interface with the Hive Blockchain.

Blockchain
A decentralized ledger.

Hive Power
The amount of Hive you have staked.

Stake
Hive tokens that are locked up and used as Hive Power. You can Power down over a period of 3 months.

Metamask
A wallet plugin for web browsers to interface with Ethereum based websites.

dApp
Decentralized Application.

Web3
A term used to describe a new generation of decentralized web ownership.
